Description:

Difficult Classroom Conversations Series - Session 3

No matter how long we have been teaching, this semester is different. So many things are going on in the world that affect how we interact with students in the face-to-face classroom and online. You don’t have to go it alone.

Faculty Development is sponsoring a new weekly Faculty Discussion Series called Difficult Classroom Conversations. Each week we’ll meet via ZOOM to tackle a different topic, with guest speakers who will share their expertise with us. And there will be plenty of time to talk and brainstorm ways to create vibrant classroom communities in spite of the chaos going on around us.

Our third session topic will be The Importance of Talking to Your Students About Race and Ethnicity. Our guest will be Dr. Scott Bowman, Special Assistant to the Provost for Inclusion and Diversity and Associate Professor, Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology.
