Description:

Difficult Classroom Conversations Series - Session 2

No matter how long we have been teaching, this semester is different. So many things are going on in the world that affect how we interact with students in the face-to-face classroom and online. You don’t have to go it alone.

Faculty Development is sponsoring a new weekly Faculty Discussion Series called Difficult Classroom Conversations. Each week we’ll meet via ZOOM to tackle a different topic, with guest speakers who will share their expertise with us. And there will be plenty of time to talk and brainstorm ways to create vibrant classroom communities in spite of the chaos going on around us.

The second session will be Wednesday, August 26, 2020, 2 – 3 p.m., and the topic will be “Engaging, not Enraging: Strategies for Mindfully Approaching Tense Situations in the Classroom” with Dr. Jon Lasser, Associate Dean for Research and Sponsored Programs in the College of Education.
