Topic Details

Description:

Social injustices may contribute to the lack of underrepresented minorities in the academy and the experience of students, faculty, and staff. In this interactive session, issues related to social justice will be discussed to identify social injustices that may be operating without our explicit awareness. Concepts including unconscious bias, microaggressions, and white fragility will be discussed. The purpose of this session is to create awareness about these phenomena and to develop strategies that will create a more inclusive and diverse environment.

This workshop supports the university’s goal to promote the success of all students.
