Description:

You are invited to a Faculty Showcase event on October 7, 2011 on the topic of Online Teaching & Learning, sponsored by Instructional Technologies Support.

Our featured speaker is Dr. Judy Oskam who will be sharing tips and tricks to make teaching online more effective and possibly less stressful. Dr. Oskam joined the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Texas State University as Associate Professor and Associate Director for Round Rock Programs in fall 2006.

This is a brown bag event, so bring your lunch and come and spend an hour with Dr. Oskam, an award-winning educator who teaches traditional, hybrid and online classes. In 2011, she earned the Sloan Consortium Online Teaching Certificate. She conducts workshops and presentations on hybrid and online teaching. Oskam serves on the Texas State University Extended and Distance Education Steering Committee.

Dr. Oskam will provide a short presentation and spend the rest of the session taking questions from attendees.
Water, soft drinks and cookies will be provided. Please bring a brown bag lunch. Plan to arrive by 11:45am or earlier as the program will begin promptly at noon.
