This Shop Talks session is for prospective applicants to the Boren Awards program. Boren Fellowships, an initiative of the National Security Education Program, provide up to $30,000 for U.S. graduate students to study less commonly taught languages in world regions critical to U.S. interests, and underrepresented in study abroad, including Africa, Asia, Central and Eastern Europe, Eurasia, Latin America, and the Middle East. In exchange for funding, Boren Fellows commit to working in the federal government for at least a year after graduation. Learn everything you need to know about the application process, including eligibility requirements; program preferences for countries, languages, and fields of study; the selection process; and the government service commitment.
