Topic Details

Description:

Are you conducting human subject research, whether for a class project or a thesis/dissertation? If so, you’ll need to submit an application to the Institutional Review Board (IRB). The IRB reviews research that is conducted by Texas State University students, faculty, and staff to ensure that the rights and welfare of human subjects are protected. This Shop Talks session will introduce students to university policies and federal regulations about research involving human subjects, as well as provide information about the application and review processes.

NEW for fall 2018: The presenter will walk you through the new application system, Kuali Protocols, which was implemented in summer 2018. Even if you have attended this session in the past, we recommend you come again to learn about important changes to the application process!

The content for this Shop Talks session is tailored for master’s/doctoral students.
