This workshop is an introduction to the 3MT® competition that Texas State holds in the spring semester (the 3MT® or three-minute thesis is a research communication competition for master's thesis students and all PhD / EdD students) more information is below. The workshop includes an overview of the 3MT®, how the competition works, and how to prepare for it. This is an introductory workshop, with no preparation needed—if you think you might be interested in the 3MT®, or are just curious about how the competition works, you are encouraged to attend!

Here is some information about the 3MT®: Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) is a research communication competition developed by The University of Queensland (UQ). Participants have three minutes to present a compelling oration on their thesis/dissertation research and its significance. The 3MT® Competition helps thesis and dissertation students develop academic, presentation, and research communication skills and supports the development of research students' capacity to effectively explain their research in language appropriate to a non-specialist audience.
