Students are eager to discuss the elephant in the room—AI. However, as AI adds layers of complexity to the learning experience, how do faculty and students cut through the chaos and have honest, healthy discussions together about the role of AI in a university education? How do students even feel about AI, and what drives their choices about using it here at Texas State?
The Center for Teaching, Learning, & Scholarship and the University Writing Center invite faculty to a special roundtable conversation that brings those questions to the forefront. In this interactive session, students and faculty will examine the nuances of AI use, from motivations and fears to practical workarounds. Participants will observe—and engage in—a transparent dialogue between faculty panelists and University Writing Center student consultants, offering a firsthand look into how students are navigating AI in their writing.
Join us to gain unique insight into the student AI experience and explore strategies to engage students in open, thoughtful, and productive conversations about AI in the classroom.
