Description:

Make Your CAREER with TXST: NSF CAREER Training Series is a webinar training series focused on the National Science Foundation (NSF) Faculty Early Career Development Program (CAREER) hosted by Research Development.

The NSF CAREER is one of NSF’s most prestigious awards for early-career faculty across all Directorates and Offices within NSF. The webinar series will focus on preparing a grant proposal for the NSF CAREER program but the content will include information generally applicable to other NSF grants. All are welcome to attend the series or individual topics.

Webinar attendees will learn the basic components of a NSF grant and the specific requirements unique to the CAREER program. Topics include a program overview with NSF Program Officer Dr. Carole Read; drafting the 1-pg project summary; developing the project narrative; planning a budget and corresponding budget justification; how to approach the Broader Impacts; an overview of the non-narrative documents including the Data Management Plan, Mentoring Plan, and the Facilities and Other Resources document; and an overview of the Senior/Key Personnel documents with focus on the Biographical Sketch and Synergistic Activities. The training series will have an accompanying Canvas site with module related to each topic.
