Summer 2025 | Team Building
**NOTE: This event is only for McCoy Graduate Students. However, we might open this event up to invited guests pending registration minimum and maximum requirements.**
Step outside the classroom and into an energizing experience designed to sharpen your leadership and collaboration skills! Join fellow business graduate students for a dynamic low ropes team-building activity that challenges you to think strategically, communicate effectively, and build trust—all essential tools for future business leaders. It’s a fun, low-stakes way to forge stronger connections, stretch your comfort zone, and gain valuable insights into teamwork in action. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to grow together!

EVENT INFORMATION:
PDU Credits: 2 PDU eligible (must meet all criteria)
Date: Saturday, June 21 (to allow those in internships to attend)
Time: 9am – 1pm, Light sandwiches/wrap lunch will be provided. If you would like you can bring your own lunch.
Location*: TXST University Camp | 1000 University Road, Wimberly TX 78676, Approximately 30 minutes from McCoy Hall in San Marcos. *The location may change pending weather. All registered participants will be contacted via your @txstate.edu email at least 24 hours prior to the event start time if there is an alternate location. Gate Code: There is a private gate code which will be shared after forms are received.
TRANSPORTATION NOTE:
There is no public transportation in this area. It is necessary for all attendees to plan for travel and transportation to the location. It is a private river/hiking property on the Blanco River.
If you are interested in carpooling with someone (have vehicle or need one) – Monica Rios kindly offered to create a GroupMe Chat Group for all registered participants (you can leave the group if you prefer not to get the messages).

Advance Sign-Up Registration is required (no walk ins for this PDU event).
Forms: NOTE: If you are under 18 years of age, complete minors (pages 4, 5 & 8) forms.
FORMS REQUIRED: Must submit (3) completed forms to kate.fly@txstate.edu by Friday, June 6.

REQUIRED ATTIRE:
Athleisure clothing that can get dirty. Light colored, loose fitting (non-cotton) t-shirts/tank tops and long pants or leggings are ideal).
Athletic Shoes: Closed-toe sneakers or lightweight boots. No sandals, crocs, flip flops, five-fingers, Chacos, or open-toed shoes.
WHAT TO BRING:
Note! Alcohol and tobacco products are not permitted during team-building activities.
Water bottle (1-2 liters per person is suggested).
Sunglasses, hat, hand sanitizer, snacks, sunscreen, bug spray.
Prescription medications (bee allergies, inhalers, etc.)
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT:
Most activities could take place outdoors, in open fields or around trees. Dressing appropriately is key to one’s comfort. You may encounter strong sun, shade, wind, or rain. If there is an expected change in location all registered participants will be emailed within 24 hours of the event date with alternative plans/locations details.

+Time for reflection. Group members will have the chance to share what they have learned and how they hope to transfer it towards future group success.
WHO MAY PARTICIPATE:
If you haven’t been to University Camp you are in for a treat. It is a gorgeous property with hiking trails, swimming, and biking along the private Blanco River in Wimberly.
We welcome you to invite your friends, family and other loved ones to meet you after the PDU event for an afternoon of community fun at University Camp after the Team Building event.
We welcome all McCoy Graduate Students and their guests to University Camp.
If you have any abilities, physical or otherwise, that are best suited for accommodation, please inform us in advance so that we can plan our activities accordingly. Texas State students may contact Accommodation Services for additional assistance.
