Naloxone (NARCAN) training course will teach you how to recognize the signs of an opioid overdose and administer the opioid overdose reversal drug Naloxone.

Training Highlights:
- Current Trends & Risk Factors: Understand the rise in overdose mortality, including the impact of synthetic opioids like fentanyl and contaminants like xylazine.
- Recognizing Overdose: Learn how to identify the signs and symptoms of opioid and stimulant overdoses, including polysubstance use complications.
- Prevention & Harm Reduction: Explore practical strategies to reduce overdose risk—such as not using alone, accessing Naloxone, and challenging misinformation.
- Naloxone Administration: Receive step-by-step guidance on how to properly administer Naloxone (Narcan), including legal protections under Texas law.
- Overdose Response Protocol: Engage in a five-step response process, including calling 911, administering Naloxone, providing rescue breaths, and placing individuals in the recovery position.
- Community Resources: Learn where to access free Naloxone and how to connect with Naloxone Distribution Hubs across Texas.

Upon completion of training, you will receive a sample to have with you in case of medical emergency.
