The Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) Program provides opportunities for students to study languages and cultures essential to America's engagement with the world. These awards fund study abroad by U.S. undergraduate students to study in the following languages: Arabic, Azerbaijani, Chinese, Hindi, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, Persian, Portuguese, Russian, Swahili, Turkish, and Urdu.
