Success Coaching Accountability Group initiative seeks to support TXST undergraduate students by offering structured individual work time, facilitating a small group environment that encourages community and collaboration, and modeling effective and transferrable academic strategies.
Accountability Groups meet weekly at a designated time and location. By signing up, you are committing to a weekly session.
Objectives
• Provide consistent, dedicated, structured time for students to work and complete a task
• Increase productivity of work time through the group setting and use of specific intentions (goal setting) and follow-ups.
• Build community in the sense that the students know there are people on campus that care if they show up every week, care about what is going on in their academic lives, and will celebrate wins and provide encouragement and support.
• Use the group setting to help students solve problems/learn potential strategies through resources and experience sharing
• Model effective academic strategies and skills during AG meetings so students can transfer them outside of the group meeting setting
Key Results
• Students attend and participate actively each week
• Students demonstrate to themselves that they can have productive work time
• Students learn how peer accountability can help them succeed
• Students feel connected to their peers
