Come celebrate the 10 year anniversary of the 'Yes Ma'am' zine created by Alumni artists Elle Minter & Suzy Gonzales. Alkek Library is proud to be the place where Elle and Suzy made their first issue of their 'Yes Ma'am' zine. You will learn what a zine is, where to find them at zine fests and libraries, and how to make your own zine.
If you would like to make a zine, here are some supplies that can help you get started:
• Letter computer paper (white or colorful) /construction paper/whatever paper you have on hand
• Markers, pens, pencils (any drawing materials)
• Magazines, glue stick, scissors for collaging
• Stapler (optional)
Art & Design Librarian, Tara Smith, will host with guest presenters 'Yes Ma'am' zine creators, Elle Minter & Suzy Gonzales (Texas State alumni artists). Exhibition to accompany the Anniversary Workshop on 2nd floor.
The Zine Workshop is open to everyone. This a hybrid session which you may attend in person or virtually. TXST-affiliated attendees should sign up here to receive the Zoom link. Attendees who are not affiliated with Texas State should email ts20@txstate.edu for the Zoom link.
