Description:

During these Zoom groups, we’ll lead you through an introduction to academic advising, discuss information and resources related to your major and career goals, and help you submit all the information we need to build you a suggested first-semester class plan. You'll also have the chance to meet some Texas State academic advisors and some new NSO friends also interested in Psychology.

HOW TO PREPARE AND JOIN.
PLEASE NOTE: Failure to adhere to the following guidelines below may result in the cancellation of your reservation. At that point, you will be required to reschedule for a later date.

WHERE WILL YOUR CONFIRMATION EMAIL GO?
Activate your Bobcatmail email address to find your reservation details and Zoom link! Bobcatmail is where you'll receive your advising appointment confirmations, Zoom links, and all of the other things you'll need to become a registered Texas State student. Your Bobcatmail address is YourNetID @txstate.edu (for example, ABC123 @txstate.edu). Access your Bobcatmail here: https://itac.txstate.edu/support/office365/bobcatmail-login.html

WHO CAN ATTEND?
For your benefit, academic advising groups are intended for STUDENTS ONLY. Select a QUIET, PRIVATE appointment location.

HOW TO JOIN?
When it’s time for your Small Group NSO Academic Advising, you’ll need to log in to Texas State’s Zoom app with your NetID and password, so have those handy! Learn how to log into the Texas State Zoom app here: https://itac.txstate.edu/support/online-meetings/login-app.html?

Join the waiting room using your first name (or preferred name) and last name. Your academic advisor cannot identify and admit you if you've used an incomplete name or another person's Zoom account.

LATE ARRIVAL?
If you arrive to the Zoom waiting room late or without technology fully enabled, your academic advisors may need to move on to complete the session with the remaining students. You will be recorded as a no-show and required to reschedule advising for a later date.

Arrive early or on time for your session.
Arrive with technology fully enabled.
Arrive ready to begin advising.

HOW TO PREPARE?
Prepare a list of any college credit you’ve earned (or may earn after this school year).
Open Zoom prior to your session to alleviate technical difficulty.
Confirm you have a reliable Internet connection.
Enable and adjust your web camera and microphone.
Keep your web camera engaged at all times.
Do not walk during your Zoom session.
Use headphones for privacy.
