The Department of Curriculum & Instruction PK-12 Teacher Education programs received national accreditation last year through the Teacher Education Accreditation Council (TEAC). In our accreditation report, we set goals for our programs to achieve in the next five years, and each year we must submit an annual progress report. Additionally, TEA let us know this summer that they will be conducting an Audit Visit of our Teacher Education programs in February, 2013.
In order to launch our work for these reviews and, more importantly, to continue our efforts to improve program quality, we are holding an important meeting this fall for all PK-12 Teacher Education faculty at the undergraduate and graduate levels, including those in early childhood-elementary, middle, secondary, bilingual, and special education programs. If you are a teacher educator in one of these programs, it is very important that you participate in this meeting.
