Speaker Biographies
Dr. Ethan Chou received his B.S. in Business Administration from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley, with a simultaneous degree in Political Science. After graduating and briefly working as a wealth management advisor at Merrill Lynch, Ethan attended law school and obtained his Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from The University of Texas School of Law. He is licensed to practice law in Texas. As an experienced legal aid attorney who has spent his entire legal career serving students in higher education, Ethan has intimate knowledge of and practical experience addressing university students' concerns, challenges, and needs. He had the opportunity and privilege to advise and counsel hundreds of students while working at the Legal Services for Students office at The University of Texas at Austin. Ethan gained valuable insight into and developed expertise in immigration law, landlord-tenant law, property law, consumer law, probate law, contract law, debtor/creditor law, insurance law, and tort law. He enjoys legal research and problem solving and is passionate about giving students the tools and resources to advocate for themselves. Ethan joined the Attorney for Students Office in 2020 and is excited to be a part of the Texas State Bobcat family.
