Topic Details

Topic:
Protecting Research Data
Description:

The integrity of research data is of the utmost importance to researchers, but protections required by law and policy vary depending on classification level, the type of data being studied or gathered, and the specific research activities occurring. These factors all have an impact on how data ought to be managed.

This class is designed to help attendees to better safeguard research data against loss and compromise to maintain data integrity and security. The ISO will guide researchers, and those considering research topics, on how to classify research data, best practices for protecting their data, and provide guidance for accessing and using a number of pre-existing tools available to faculty and staff researchers.
