Topic:
NSF CAREER Webinar Series
Description:

This webinar training series webinar training is focused on the National Science Foundation (NSF) Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) Program.

The NSF CAREER Program is one of NSF’s most prestigious awards for early-career faculty across all Directorates and Offices. The CAREER program is intended to support Primary Investigators to become leaders in the integration of research and education in their field.

While the webinar series is focused on the CAREER program, much of the content will include information generally applicable to other NSF grants. All are welcome to attend the entirety of the series, or individual topics based on their interests. Attendees will learn the basic components of an NSF grant and the specific requirements unique to the CAREER program. Topics include drafting the 1-page project summary; developing the project narrative; planning a budget and corresponding budget justification; how to approach Broader Impacts; understanding education activities and their evaluation; an overview of the non-narrative documents (Data Management Plan, Mentoring Plan, and Facilities and Other Resources); and guidance on Senior/Key Personnel documents with focus on the Biographical Sketch and Synergistic Activities. The training series will have an accompanying Canvas site with modules related to each topic.
