Description:

Building Bridges: Understanding the Processes and Procedures for Doing Research with Austin Independent School District, a webinar in partnership with the College of Education Research Office, with guest speaker Zac Johnson of the Austin Independent School District.

Zac Johnson is a Coordinator of Research-Insight-Analytics specializing in educational research to improve learning outcomes for students and schools for at the Austin Independent School District (AISD). As one of his responsibilities he oversees the review and approval of research applications for AISD campuses. Zac taught in Title I schools for a decade and, after graduating from American University, has spent the last three years in Educational Research assisting researchers to conduct studies within his local district.

This session explores how researchers can navigate the process of conducting studies on AISD campuses by aligning with district needs and understanding campus time constraints. We'll discuss common challenges that researchers often face, along with practical strategies for success. All of this will be presented from the context of research with AISD.

The webinar will include a Q&A at the end of the session for practical insight and recommendations for project approval.
