Topic Details

Description:

Learn how to create GIS data from tabular data containing address information or location coordinates. Attendees will also learn how to explore some basic statistics about the data including patterns, distribution and intensity. This is a hands-on workshop so attendees will have the chance to practice everything taught during the lesson. It is highly recommended for people in Criminal Justice, Political Science, and Health related disciplines.

NB: This is an advanced topic so attendees are recommended to first take one of the basic GIS courses such as Introduction to GIS / Mapping or Exploring Open Source GIS I (if they have no prior knowledge of GIS or the ArcGIS software) before this one if possible.

Also, since this session is hybrid (in-person and online), participants who join via online (zoom) are expected to have the required software, ArcGIS Pro, already installed on their computer prior to attending this workshop.

NOTE: Round Rock workshops take place in-person only on the Round Rock campus.
