Description:

Is there a connection between intercultural sensitivity, interpersonal skills, critical thinking, and multicultural effectiveness? Bennett (1993), a leading scholar in the field, believed that fostering particular critical thinking skills in university courses enhanced tolerance for ambiguity and as such, facilitated students’ movement along a continuum of development of intercultural sensitivity. The presenters of this webinar will show participants how to integrate these qualities (e.g., critical thinking, intercultural sensitivity, and tolerance for ambiguity) and facilitate them in courses (especially online courses). A call for research on how to test these assumptions with experiences beyond the classroom will be introduced.

*Note: Directions for joining the webinar via your computer or phone will be sent to your Texas State email account one day before the event.
