Description:

Recent research describes mentoring as the heart of graduate and undergraduate education. It not only improves student performance but also enhances perceptions of the academic climate. Is there anything in it for faculty? The goal of this workshop is to present examples of how student mentoring has helped shape my career at Texas State University. In a group discussion format we will cover mentoring in the classroom, in research and writing, and in navigating the academic environment.
