Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) is a research communication competition in which master's students on a thesis track and Ph.D./Ed.D. students have three minutes to present a compelling oration on their research and its significance. The 3MT® promotes presentation and communication skills, provides opportunities and feedback for students to work on explaining their research to a non-specialized audience, and in general helps students hone their “elevator pitch” discussions of their dissertations (especially useful for those students heading into job interviews!).
At the University Final, twelve students will compete to win top awards. These students will be announced at the end of October 2023.
Guests who attend the event can vote for their favorite competitor and help them win the People's Choice award. Refreshments and snacks will be provided, and there will be time for a Q&A with the finalists following their presentations, door prizes, and raffle prizes.
